Cedar to Receive Replica Terracotta Warrior

The Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce and Cedar City Public Library will unveil a replica Terracotta Warrior given to our community as a gift from Citslinc International for our community's support of cultural programs that teach about the customs and cultures of China.

The life-sized statue will be unveiled at the Cedar City Library in the Park, 303 North 100 East, Cedar City on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 7 p.m.

Chamber Seeking Qualified Designer

Officer Manager Needed

The Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new office manager. The office manager will perform a variety of duties related to managing the office of the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce including answering the phone, filing, data entry, payroll, deductions and quarterly taxes.

Cedar Area Chamber Gears Up to Go to China

As Gov. Jon Huntsman focuses on China as one of four “priority” countries for foreign exchange, the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce is supporting his efforts by leading an educational tour to China in 2009.

The 2009 tour is scheduled to coincide with the Southern Utah University spring break with departure dates on March 13 and 14, 2009.

Ground Breaking

Southwest Applied Technology College is expanding to increase our training opportunities for the transportation and automotive technology industries.

You are invited to a short ceremony Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 4 p.m. USDA Rural Development will be honored for their contribution to our Professional Truck Driving Program, and breaking ground on a new Automotive and Diesel Training Center.

This event will take place just off of I-15, west of the “old” north interchange, 100 E. Nichols Canyon Road.



Great American Stampede

The Lions Club is going all out to have Old West Days, three days of events in the park that include entertainment, western vendors, carnival games, horse displays and a Old West Parade.

The event will take place September 4 - 6. For more information on becoming a vendor, entering the parade or competing in the fiddle competition, click here.


Thunderbird Village Booths Now Available

Thunderbird Village is expanding for SUU's Homecoming 2008 and will host the SUU Fall Fest Street Fair that has been held on Main Street in years past. Enjoy live music, booths, food, tailgating and activities for the kids. Thunderbird Village booths are available and a registration form can be downloaded here.
